The Elements of Health

Welcome,
This site has been designed for the purpose of increasing the understanding of the three elements of Health. They are Physical, Mental/Emotional, and Social. I hope you enjoy your visit and invite you to return as this site will grow over the next year.

PHYSICAL HEALTH- is the way the parts and systems of the body work together. To have good physical health means your body has the ability to cope with the stresses of your daily life. To maintain good physical health you must have proper nutrition, regular exercise, plenty of rest and sleep, good hygiene, getting regular medical and dental checkups, and avoiding harmful substances.

MENTAL/EMOTIONAL HEALTH- includes your feelings about yourself, how well you relate to others, and how well you meet the demands of daily life. It also includes thinking skills, mind development and the joy of learning.

SOCIAL HEALTH- includes the way you get along with others, your ability to make and keep friends, and be able to work and play in a cooperative way. It also involves being able to show respect and care for others and yourself.
